CLASSES IN BUILDING NECK THRU GUITARS

Neal Moser is offering 3 class models for you to choose from. The first is a two week seminar with no more than 3 students. Classes will be held between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday.  In this seminar Neal will build a complete neck thru guitar while you watch, take notes, ask questions etc.

The second model is an extension of the first for a total of four weeks. The hours and days are the same. The main difference is that the student will leave at the end of the four weeks with their own handmade neck thru guitar. The class is limited to 2 students.

The third model is a weekend hands on class in Guitar/Bass setup and fret work. This will be a one-on-one class.

For those students attending from outside the local area, who can't drive home each night, we are offering a student room with TV, Internet and a refrigerator at no extra charge. For those who want personal housing, there are many motels & hotels in the area.
Each student will supply their own food and transportation.

The price of the 2 week seminar is $1500 per student.

The price of the one month class is $3500 per student and includes all the wood and parts for the guitar the student will build.

The weekend classes are $500 and the hours are the same as the other class and seminar.

This is a basic list of what Neal Moser will be teaching.

Creating and laying out designs.

Creating templates.

Building a neck-through guitar by hand. Building a neck-through guitar with the help of light machinery.

Using primitive tools. Bench planes, spoke shaves, files, knives...etc.....and carving methods.

Fretting and fret milling & dressing.

Inlay work.

Hand making nut bones.

Final guitar assembly.

Basic guitar wiring.

Final PRO setup work.

When you finish the 2 week seminar you will have been shown by Neal Moser how to build a neck-thru guitar in your shop using the least amount of power tools possible.

We will also instruct you in the use of basic small production guitar building power tools such as band saws/re-saws, jointers, surface planers and hand routers. After this seminar you will have the knowledge, what you can build will only be limited by your own personal skill level.

When you finish the 4 week class you will have built your own guitar while Neal demonstrates each process and technique.
